A Message From the Editor
Michel Crépeau, CIH, ROH
In our continuing series of podcasts, Tom Ouimet interviews Nancy Orr and Glenn Barbi, providing us with a fascinating synopsis of ethical fitness. Have you ever been faced with a difficult choice where the options seemed more of a problem than a solution? This podcast will most certainly pique your interest on this topic which has applicability to the everyday world of practicing industrial hygienists. For those of you attending AIHce in Minneapolis but have not yet decided to sign up for a PDC, the interview also provides guidance on where you can improve your skills to make higher quality ethical decisions.
Foundation Update - David Downs, president of the American Industrial Hygiene Foundation, provides an update on the foundation’s scholarship activities and gives us an opportunity to learn more about the outcome of your contributions and support of the foundation.
Academy Affiliate membership in the Academy of Industrial Hygiene – A recent change to the AIHA bylaws (voted on and approved by the AIHA membership) allows all certified industrial hygienists not currently members of AIHA to join the academy as Academy Affiliate members. CIHs who are not members of AIHA who wish to be recognized as Diplomates of the academy and to receive a discounted PCIH registration may apply for membership by downloading an application form. Annual dues are $44. Academy Affiliate members are not eligible to serve on the Academy Council and do not receive any of the benefits of AIHA membership with the exception of the discounted PCIH registration.
PCIH Reminder – The Academy Conference Team has prepared a great program for you in Tampa! Watch the PCIH website for more information and mark your calendars to attend in November.
