The article explained what industrial hygienists do, noting that the profession draws from a variety of scientific and technical disciplines. Mock Meth Lab Coverage

To highlight the growing health and safety risks from clandestine methamphetamine labs, AIHA created and displayed a mock meth lab at AIHce. The lab displayed the household implements and chemicals commonly used to manufacture meth, and industrial hygienists – the individuals who test meth lab sites for contamination and recommend cleanup procedures – were on hand to explain the dangers. The Philadelphia Police Department’s Major Incident Response Team (MIRT) was on hand to display equipment and tactics used for entering and securing suspected meth labs. The Philadelphia-based Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) meth lab response truck that dismantles drug labs in the state was also on display.

KYW’s Mark DeNardo made a trip to the convention center to visit AIHA’s mock meth lab on the expo floor. ABC 6 Action News Stops by AIHA Mock Meth Lab

Local Philadelphia ABC television station visited AIHA’s mock meth lab on the expo floor. The AIHA mock meth lab was featured on ABC’s noon and 6 p.m. evening news.
