3rd Symposium on the Assessment and Control of Metal Removal Fluids
The first opportunity in over a decade to hear the latest trends and advances in the metal removal fluids and lubrication industry
FAIRFAX, VA (December 17, 2007) — The American Industrial Hygiene Association (AIHA), the Independent Lubricant Manufacturers Association (ILMA), the Automotive Industry Action Group (AIAG), and the Independent Union of the European Lubricants Industry (UEIL) will co-sponsor the 3rd Symposium on the Assessment and Control of Metal Removal Fluids, October 5–8, 2008, at the Hyatt Regency in Dearborn, Michigan.
The symposium is the first opportunity in over a decade to hear the latest trends and advances in the metal removal fluids (MRF) and lubrication industry. This groundbreaking symposium will bring together manufacturers of MRF and the customers using those products.
The topics to be addressed at the symposium include the following items:
• Health and safety effects/occupational medicine
o Dermal effects
o Respiratory effects

• Exposure measurement and guidelines
o Developments in MRF aerosol sampling and analytical techniques
o Promulgation of MRF occupational exposure limits
• Managing MRF in the plant/best practices

The Symposium Organizing Committee is soliciting papers for presentation and poster proposals addressing the issues listed above. Abstract submissions should be no more than 200 words (Word text format) and must follow the author guidelines. The deadline for submitting all abstracts and poster proposals is April 30, 2008.
