The Synergist: New and Improved
AIHA unveils the next big piece of its rebranding effort, a new look for its flagship magazine
FAIRFAX, VA (January 3, 2008) — The American Industrial Hygiene Association (AIHA) introduced today the redesign of its monthly magazine, The Synergist. In the January debut issue, the new look – and the new approach to content that readers will find in some sections – not only is respectful of the past, but also builds on its traditions. At the same time, the new design, which is the latest element of the ongoing AIHA rebranding effort, showcases a more contemporary image.
According to the responses from its latest reader survey, The Synergist readers are time-starved, so the redesign favors more concise articles and focuses more on easy-to-read bulleted lists, sidebar boxes, tables, and figures. This approach should help readers navigate the magazine more easily and assist them in prioritizing articles to read first. This editorial approach also should help readers get more out of articles they decide to skim instead.
