AIHA Announces Rusnak as New Communications Director
With more than 25 years of experience, Andrew Rusnak will join AIHA
FAIRFAX, VA (March 24, 2008) -The American Industrial Hygiene Association (AIHA) today announced the appointment of Andrew Rusnak as director of communications. Rusnak will be responsible for the editorial and managerial functions for member publications. He also will provide strategic communications input and planning to all AIHA departments. In addition, Rusnak will oversee the AIHA website and the public relations function for AIHA.
Rusnak comes to AIHA with more than 25 years of experience in association communications with progressively responsible experience in
- Printed and online publications—editorial, production, circulation, marketing, advertising, and design.
- Technical writing and training and process engineering.
- Leadership and team building.
“What a great opportunity to work with the dedicated and creative communications team at AIHA,” Andrew Rusnak said. “Publications like The Synergist magazine and the Journal of Occupational and Environmental Hygiene, and AIHA’s website, are model vehicles for advancing the association’s and the industry’s messages and objectives for occupational and environmental health and safety professionals. They not only help raise the bar on professional standards, they provide a forum for engagement and participation, which also, in turn, sets new goals and aspirations.”
Rusnak previously worked as communications director for the North American Insulation Manufacturers Association. He has been involved with many other professional organizations, including the American Composites Manufacturers Association, Exchange Monitor Publications, Business Publishers, Inc., and Martin Marietta Aero & Naval Systems.
“AIHA is confident that Rusnak’s experience and skills will provide the communications leadership AIHA needs for continued growth,” said AIHA President Donald J. Hart, PhD, CIH.
