AIHA Recognizes OEHS Professionals for Completion of the Management Certificate Program
FAIRFAX, VA (August 26, 2008) – The American Industrial Hygiene Association (AIHA) today announced that the Certificate of Completion in its Management Certificate Program has been presented to five occupational and environmental health and safety (OEHS) professionals who completed three courses to improve their leadership capabilities, management and communication skills, and the ability to understand and affect a company’s bottom line.
This program, while addressing overall management skills, focuses on providing best management practices in identifying and utilizing proven methods for enhancing performance and quality, developing and maintaining working relationships, and improving the business financial scorecard.
The individuals who completed AIHA’s Management Certificate Program at the 2008 American Industrial Hygiene Conference and Exposition (AIHce) are:

The three-track, 48-hour comprehensive Management Certificate Program offers the following courses:
- “Improving Communication Effectiveness for the IH Manager and OEHS Professional”
- “Action Tools for Successful OEHS Management and Leadership” (formerly General Management and Leadership)
- “Fundamentals of Finance and Accounting for Nonfinancial Managers”
The certificate program promotes OEHS excellence by offering fresh, dynamic management solutions to
real-world situations and practices. Course content is presented by nationally recognized faculty. Completion of the program earns 6.0 Management CM points toward sitting for the CIH exam and 4.8 COC/CEU points towards other certifications.
The next opportunity to participate in AIHA’s Management Certificate Program will be at the annual Professional Conference on Industrial Hygiene (PCIH), held November 8–11, 2008, in Tampa, Florida, and at AIHce, held May 30–June 4, 2009, in Toronto, Canada.
