Distance Learning FAQs
What is my student number?
Your student number is the same as your AIHA membership number. If you are not an AIHA member, your student number will appear on your product invoice. The invoice contains an account number, which is the same as your student number, and/or your AIHA membership number.
Is my training considered a tax deduction?
The expense of continuing education, when taken to maintain and improve professional skills, may be tax deductible. Please contact your accountant for complete details.
May I purchase the course for a nonmember of AIHA using my membership to qualify for the member price?
Member prices are reserved strictly for members. We would encourage your coworker to consider joining AIHA and to learn more about the many benefits and opportunities of membership.
Can employees in my office also complete the Webcourse/ video/ PDC video/self study?
No. AIHA will only administer the course (i.e., process the final exam, award a certificate of completion, maintain a student record, etc.) for the individual who purchased the course. Others may view the course with explicit permission to use your information--but only the registered individual may complete the course, take the exam, and receive a certificate of completion for CM points and CEUs.
How can I obtain CM points and CEUs?
Complete your Distance Learning Course's final exam and submit it to AIHA for scoring. Upon receiving a satisfactory score, AIHA will return your graded final exam, an answer key, and a certificate of completion with the appropriate CM points and CEUs.
In the event that an unsatisfactory score is received, AIHA will request that you re-review the course materials and complete an alternate final exam before issuing a certificate of completion.
Any courses pending certification or recertification from the American Board of Industrial Hygiene (ABIH) are not guaranteed to receive CM points. Certification and the amount of CM points awarded are at the sole discretion of ABIH.
