AIHA’s Certificate in Management for Industrial Hygienists and Occupational and Environmental Health and Safety Professionals
AIHA’s Certificate in Management program is comprised of three tracks: communications, leadership, and finance. The program offers core business competencies to industrial hygienists and occupational and environmental health and safety professionals who often have significant technical and scientific backgrounds, but request more offerings to improve their management skills so they can better manage the business aspects of their careers.
Add to your technical expertise by thinking and acting like a manager. Learn how to lead, how to communicate with staff and other managers, and how to think and speak in financial terms executive management can understand.
Courses may be completed in any order and formal recognition is offered once a participant has completed all core tracks.

Management Course I
Improving Communication Effectiveness for the IH Manager and OEHS Professional

You will learn to understand your role as a technical manager when leading a professional staff as well as learn to motivate scientists and technical professionals for top performance.
Management Course III
Fundamentals of Finance and Accounting for NonFinancial Managers
This course focuses on helping industrial hygienists and occupational and environmental health and safety professionals develop an understanding and awareness of financial information. All business activity ultimately relates to having the appropriate financial information available and knowing how to use it intelligently—the keys to enhanced management performance. This course will look at ratios as financial indicators, the evaluation process for product and business profitability, return on investment analysis, financial communication, and analysis of customers and competitors.

Finance and Accounting for NonFinancial Manager - Intermediate
This course builds on how to establish financial policy and report on the performance of your department in financial terms. Participants will learn to interpret and analyze financial data and convey credibility. With today’s income shortfalls and unmet forecasts, correctly interpreting financial information is critical to your success.
