AIHA's CIH course instruction counts as 36 continuing education contact hours (short course hours) towards the required minimum to sit for the CIH or CAIH Exams.

Course Description

This 4.5-day course is an intensive, high-level review of a wide range of industrial hygiene topics to help those preparing for certification exams.

Who Needs to Attend

Individuals preparing to take the ABIH certified industrial hygienist examination (CIH or CAIH), those who have taken the exam but need a refresher, or others who desire a comprehensive review of topics relevant to the practice of industrial hygiene.

Course Directors  
 
Edward T. Zellers, PhD is the director and a professor in the Industrial Hygiene Program in the Department of Environmental Health Sciences at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor. Dr. Zeller has many years of experience in industrial hygiene field practice, research, and teaching. 
 
Norbert (Bert) Schiller, CIH, PE, ROH, is currently an independent consultant. Schiller has more than 21 years of extensive teaching, consulting, and practical experience in industry, government, academia, and private interest groups. In 1990 he helped organize the Comprehensive Industrial Hygiene Review course, now offered twice a year at the University of Michigan.

The final topics and instructors are subject to change based upon availability.  The start time on Monday and end time on Friday will remain unchanged.

Accommodations & Transportation Information


Please reserve your room as soon as possible as a limited number of rooms are blocked at each location. Room blocks expire 30 days prior to the course start date; after this date, rooms will be subject to the regular rate and availability. When making room reservations, please mention AIHA to receive a reduced rate. 

Attendees are responsible for making their own travel arrangements. If you would like assistance in making your arrangements, contact Association Travel Concepts (ATC), AIHA's official travel agency, at (800) 458-9383, 9:00 a.m.-9:00 p.m. EST, Monday through Friday, or e-mail your requests to reservations@ATCMeetings.com.  AIHA reserves the right to cancel a course 30 days prior to the start of the course, therefore, we suggest that you do not purchase nonrefundable tickets until 3 weeks prior to the start of the course.

Transfers, Substitutions, and Cancellations

All transfers, cancellations, and/or substitutions must be received in writing by the Continuing Education Department. Transfers can be made at any time to any course within the same calendar year. Substitutions may be made at any time. Cancellations made 15 business days prior to the course will be given a full refund. Cancellations made within 15 days of the course will be charged a $75 processing fee. No refunds will be given if notice of cancellation is not received prior to the start of the course, including no-shows.
