Scholarship Eligibility Criteria

AIHF scholarship applications must be submitted by early March of each year. The scholarship application form will be posted to this website in November.

Scholarships are awarded based on the availability of funds provided through contributions from AIHA members, individuals, corporations, and local sections. Previous AIHF scholarship recipients are NOT eligible to apply. Students do not apply for a specific scholarship. The AIHF Scholarship Selection Committee will determine the scholarship awards during the selection process.

Scholarship Criteria

Applicants must meet each of the following criteria in order to qualify for the AIHF scholarship program.

  • AIHA Student/Full/Associate Member (or applying for Student, Full, or Associate membership; visit www.aiha.org for a membership application.)
  • Currently attending, or applying to,  an ABET-accredited IH program at the graduate or undergraduate level, NIOSH ERC IH program, or a CEPH-accredited program with occupational health emphasis (for a complete listing of eligible programs visit www.aiha.org/Content/Foundation/AIHFScholarshipProgram.htm or consult your program director if you are unsure; the only exception is if you are a New York University student and are applying for the Dr. Morton Lippmann Scholarship)
  • For Canadian students: must be currently attending, or applying to, the following Canadian universities: McGill University, University of British Columbia, Université de Montréal, Université du Québec à Trois-Rivières (UQTR), or University of Toronto
  • Must be a graduate student with a major field of concentration in industrial hygiene, or entering a graduate program (unless attending, or applying to, an ABET-accredited IH undergraduate program)
  • May be a full or part-time student
  • Must be enrolled at the start of the fall semester when funds are distributed.
  • Must NOT be a previous AIHF scholarship recipient

Students who complete an application will be considered for all the scholarships for which they are eligible.
