Z10 Accredited Standards Committee
Occupational Health and Safety Systems
Welcome to the American Industrial Hygiene Association's Occupational Health and Safety Systems Committee website. On this site you will find committee minutes and related links.
The scope of the committee is to develop a standard of management principles and systems to help organizations design and implement deliberate and documented approaches to continuously improve their occupational health and safety (OHS) performance. The standard will enable organizations to integrate OHS management into their overall business management systems; it will focus on principles that are broadly applicable to organizations of all sizes and types, not on detailed specifications. The standard will be compatible with relevant OHS, environmental, and quality management standards (e.g., ISO 9000 and14000), and with approaches to OHS management in common use in the U.S.
Chair: Alan Leibowitz
Vice-Chair, Jim Howe

Upcoming Activities
Z10 member survey - Online survey sent to all current, former, and prospective members of the Committee in July 2008. The goal of this short survey is to get input to help AIHA as we begin to define the scope and direction of the revision and work plan.
Z10 purchaser survey - This is a separate survey to be sent to everyone who purchased the 2005 standard through AIHA, ASSE or ANSI. We expect to send this initial purchaser survey out by the beginning of September 2008 with a follow up more detailed survey to be sent in early 2009.
Z10 Membership Finalization – The Secretariat expects to conduct a membership ballot in August 2008 to finalize the committee membership.
