Asbestos
Jim Lewis
Organizes and presents technical and regulatory information on asbestos-containing materials in buildings through roundtables, sessions and PDCs at the annual AIHce and in AIHA publications.
Emerging IEQ Issues
John Martyny
Identifies new issues in IEQ. The project team submits a roundtable or forum highlighting new and emerging issues in IEQ for the AIHCE annually, and also suggests position papers and white papers on emerging IEQ issues.
International Affairs
Bill Hoychuk
Tracks international activities in the field of IEQ, identifying emerging issues and international experts in various areas of IEQ. This project team has organized a number of IEQ International Symposiums at the AIHce.
Lead
Geoff Braybrooke
Tracks lead legislation and regulations as they impact the practice of industrial hygiene relative to IEQ. Indoor materials and spaces, such as wall paint, and regulatory requirements related to training (e.g., HUD) of lead paint investigators are evaluated.
Liaison
David Kahane
Interfaces with other organizations whose membership is affected by or who work in the field of IEQ, such as ASHRAE, BOMA, and AWMA. This group also provides liaison with other AIHA committees.
Microbial Growth in Buildings
Brad Prezant
This project team is reviewing how it can best serve public health, assist AIHA members and enhance the professionalism of practicing industrial hygienists, in particular CIHs, in the midst of this controversial topic facing society. Currently under consideration are publications and training, in collaboration with the Biosafety committee and other interested AIHA members and committees.
Publications
Tim Ryan
Prepares and distributes written information on IEQ. Several brochures have been published by AIHA for general distribution. The project team determines and presents the "Best IEQ Paper" published in AIHA or AOEH journals annually.
Regulatory Affairs
Ralph Froelich
Evaluates the technical and economic feasibility of proposed legislation, regulations, and organizational and consensus standards. Project team reviews have included the OSHA proposed IAQ standard and ASHRAE Standard 62 revisions.
