Risk Assessment Committee: Message from the Chair
On behalf of the American Industrial Hygiene Association and members of the Risk Assessment Committee, I applaud your visit to the Risk Assessment Committee Website. Our goal is to make this site one of the premier websites for risk assessment information. We feel we provide you with risk related information and related links that will help you accomplish your missions as environmental and occupational health and safety professionals.
As the current Committee Chair, I would like to ask you for comments or suggestions for improving this site. Please contact me through the e-mail link below.
We are always looking for new and innovative ideas for advancing the practice of risk assessment in industrial hygiene, whether you work for industry, academia, private practice, or the public community. We want to expand the use of risk assessment principles and methods to address areas outside traditional industrial hygiene. These areas include:
- environmental stewardship,
- product stewardship,
- community disaster preparedness, and
- terrorism preparedness.
We would very much like to understand your risk assessment needs in these areas.
We are especially interested in recruiting new members who wish to be proactive in delivering the message about the critical need for risk assessments at the workplace, facility, and/or community. New industrial hygienists who want to expand their horizons from the classic tenets of risk assessment to learning new practical approaches such as control banding are welcome. You will interact with the experts and those driven to disseminate knowledge of risk assessment to professionals and the outside world.
Thank you for visiting our site and we hope you find it useful.
