Management Committee
The mission of the committee is:
To provide a forum for exchanging ideas and information about the application of management principles to occupational and environmental health programs; to identify, develop, and promote strategies that further integrate the occupational and environmental health professional into the management team.
Goals and Objectives
Goal: Assemble, evaluate, and disseminate to occupational and environmental health professionals information relevant to management techniques useful in occupational and environmental health programs and activities.
Objective #1: To achieve full utilization of management principles.
Strategies:
- Organize annual sessions at the AIHce that focus on the application of management principles.
- Solicit and prepare papers for publication that address the application of management principles.
- Provide continuing education programs that address and promote the application of management principles.
- Publish guidelines on occupational and environmental health programs management.
- Sponsor educational programs for members to assist in establishing and auditing occupational and environmental health programs.
Objective #2: Provide technical support to the membership on occupational and environmental health issues.
Strategies:
- Serve as a clearinghouse to help members identify the resources they may need to manage their programs more effectively.
- Respond to AIHA Board requests to address management issues that emerge from regulatory and legislative issues.
- Monitor emerging issues relevant to the application of management principles and develop and recommend positions to the AIHA Board.
