Membership Committee
The Membership Committee's mission is to assist the AIHA Board of Directors and AIHA staff in being effective in attracting and maintaining members. The Membership Committee through liaison with other volunteer groups will work to recruit new members and educate members regarding AIHA benefits, products and services, and volunteer opportunities. The Membership Committee will also work with staff to provide guidance on the application review process and will work to maintain current members to keep AIHA strong and viable in supporting and advancing the profession of industrial hygiene.
Goals and Objectives
Goal: Make AIHA more effective in recruiting and retaining members.
Objective #1: Review membership issues including classes of membership, qualifications for membership, and membership application forms.
Strategies:
- Develop and recommend improvements to the AIHA Board.
- Periodically contact those who withdraw to identify the reasons and to recommend appropriate actions to the AIHA Board.
- Respond to AIHA Board requests to address specific issues.
- Meet at the AIHce and at other times as appropriate.
Objective #2: Encourage nonmember occupational and environmental health professionals to join the AIHA.
Strategies:
- Recommend concepts for membership campaigns to be implemented by staff.
- Review membership applications and recommend to the AIHA Board qualified persons for membership
