AIHA Affiliate Laboratory Programs
The AIHA Laboratory Accreditation Programs, LLC offers a group of highly acclaimed accreditation programs that have been relied on in the global scientific community for more than thirty years. The legacy industrial hygiene programs, developed by and for the IH community, received early endorsement and involvement of the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH), while the lead programs meet stringent requirements established by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) National Laboratory Accreditation Program.
The AIHA Proficiency Analytical Testing Programs, LLC provides laboratories with the opportunity to improve and refine the analytical skills of their staff, while testing new procedures or training different analysts. These programs, which are open to all laboratories, allow laboratories' employees to demonstrate their ability to correctly analyze samples in the workplace and the environment.
The Asbestos Analyst Registry (AAR) program, offered by the American Industrial Hygiene Association's (AIHA) Registry Programs, LLC, was designed to recognize the analysts of organizations involved in asbestos fiber counting on air samples outside of established laboratory locations, primarily on the job site or in the field. All registered analyst must be associated with an AAR-Approved organization that oversees the Quality Assurance and Quality Control program that monitors the analyst. The program requires documented NIOSH 582 training, adherence to the quality assurance and quality control requirements set forth by OSHA in 29 CFR 1910.1001 Appendix A and the most current version of the NIOSH 7400 Method, and ongoing proficient performance in the Asbestos Analytical Testing (AAT) program by all registered analysts.
