This year's LSO Workshop will be
hosted by Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Cambridge, Mass.
The workshop is considered by many to be the premier Laser Safety
Workshop in the US. Basic registration is only $150.
The workshop features presentations on topics not found in standard
laser safety training. We will discuss solutions to real-world
laser safety issues with experts in the field. Attendees receive
the most current data on what is happening in laser technology and
how to integrate it into a safety culture.
This year we will also have
mini-workshops on laser hazard evaluation software, a medical
session, discussion of laser safety at production facilities, panels
on laser safety & facilities, a presentation on custom laser
protective eyewear, several industrial related topics, a review of
effective on the job training, and much more. As a special treat,
Jeff Hecht is scheduled to speak.
I hope upon reading the agenda you will agree this workshop is of
considerable value. You will earn Continuing Education Units (CEUs)
and network with many of your peers.

Overview:
On April 22, 2010, the Environmental Protection Agency's Lead RRP
(40 CFR, Part 745, Subpart E) went into effect. The new rule
requires contractors performing renovation, repair and painting
projects that disturb lead-based paint in homes, child care
facilities, and schools built before 1978 to be certified and follow
specific work practices to prevent lead contamination.
Although the EPA recently extended the enforcement deadline until
October 1st, contractors are enrolling in certification courses
across the country to learn about lead safe work practices and the
tools needed to meet the new standard.
This interactive webinar you will learn:
- An overview of the RRP
- Best practices to keep lead dust at a minimum during and after the
renovation project.
- Some popular tools recommended by the EPA to help minimize lead
dust
A Q&A session will be held during the last 15 minutes of the
Webinar.
