Responsibilities

This position will provide leadership and technical support in the areas of: 

·         Direct industrial hygiene, safety, environmental and litigation support consulting activities;

·         Prepare proposals and bid documents in coordination with business development staff;

·         Conduct and/or oversee the completion of industrial hygiene surveys for noise, indoor air quality, mold, asbestos, lead, etc.;

·         Preparation and  review of site safety/work plans;

·         Technical report preparation and/or review;  

·         Quality assurance/quality control technical review;

·         Train and manage junior staff members;

·         Develop business leads and new EHS consulting services.

·         Position may require short-term travel throughout the United States.

Alabama Senior Safety Representative/ Industrial Hygienist

Assist in implementing site, division and corporate safety and industrial hygiene policies and procedures and applicable safety and health regulatory standards.  Perform evaluations leading to the recognition, evaluation, and control of chemical, physical or biological contaminants as part of a comprehensive safety and health program to provide a safe work environment for employees. 

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Keep current with federal, state and other applicable regulations which impact safety and industrial hygiene.
  1. Perform safety and industrial hygiene audits and assist in developing programs and procedures to ensure site, divisional and corporate compliance. 
  1. Determine employee exposures to environmental stressors and develop controls and procedures to improve working conditions.

Requirements:

  1. A degree in industrial hygiene, occupational safety or related field, plus min of 5 yrs IH and Safety experience. 
  1. Thorough knowledge OSHA regulations. 
  1. Analytical and problem-solving skills needed to identify and address complex safety and industrial hygiene issues.
  1. Speaking and writing skills needed to report to and interact with various levels of management, employees, and regulatory agencies.

Sunoco HES Auditor I / II:

Position Summary:

Perform environmental, DOT, security and management systems audits at facilities, as appropriate.  Although candidate will be asked to perform a variety of audits, technical expertise in environmental is a must and expertise with management systems is preferred.  Audits will be performed at Sunoco's operating facilities, including refineries, chemical plants, coke plants, and company-operated convenience stores. Additionally, audits will be performed at marketing terminals & pipeline = facilities and other locations, as appropriate. These audits are conducted on-site at company locations. Travel is required (approximately 30%). Will also assist with developing/maintaining audit protocols, tracking audit results and assisting with Sunoco's Annual HES report.
 
Requirements:
BS degree in Engineering or environmental discipline. Minimum 3 - 7 years experience dealing with environmental regulations, and issues including auditing experience. Familiarity with HES audit processes required; petroleum and/or chemical industry experience preferred; proficiency with Word, Access, Excel applications necessary.
 
Preferred Skills, Education, and Experience:
Strong organizational and interpersonal skills are necessary to manage audit activities. Good analysis skills to assess facilities compliance with various regulations and management system requirements.   The candidate should posses the ability to work with and lead HES audit teams composed of internal and external auditors. Certification, or working towards certification,  such as CPEA, CHMM a plus. Strong writing skills a must. 


Special Considerations:
Successful applicant must be poised, self-confident and able to defend audit positions with facility and HES managers. Will interact with senior HES management in support of corporate HES systems.

The Southeastern Pennsylvania Transportation Authority (SEPTA) is recruiting for a Safety Officer with a specialty in Fire Safety.  Will conduct Fire Inspections of facilities, stations, tunnels, and advise management of all fire prevention codes and standards.  Will organize annual emergency evacuation drills with outside agencies to maintain emergency preparedness.  Will ensure that infrastructure maintains compliance with NFPA standards, and the International Fire Code.
 

B.S. Degree in related health and safety, environmental or engineering disciplines, plus five to seven years related experience.  In lieu of a degree, an equivalent combination education and experience may be considered.
