Duties: Serves as a senior hygienist for all Superfund, DERP, military and
civil industrial hygiene activities including: personal protective equipment;
ionizing and non-ionizing radiation, asbestos, lead based paint, and other
toxic substances; hazardous waste cleanup procedures; overall construction
site safety; illumination; ventilation; sanitation; and hearing conservation.
Is technical authority for cleanups, removals; site field investigations,
feasibility studies, and remedial action designs. Evaluates and recommends
methods to control occupation health and safety hazards. Determines project
requirements and prepares Scopes of Work (SOW) and Government estimates for
A-E contracts for site investigations, Feasibility Studies and remedial
designs. Serves as a member of A-E Pre-selection and Selection Boards
participating in negotiation A-E fees. Investigates, analyzes and directs A-E
occupational health investigations. Reviews in-house and A-E designs, plans
and specifications.

Scope
Pine Bluff Chemical Disposal Facility is currently seeking an Industrial Hygienist Specialist to work in our Safety Department. The successful candidate will provide regulatory interpretation and technical advice to support the development, coordination, and implementation of industrial hygiene programs, study the workplace environmental factors that affect employees, coordinate and conduct required hygiene tests, develop and recommend corrective and preventative action to eliminate, control or reduce occupational health problems. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing, implementing and maintaining safety and health programs, documentation, and systems and procedures to help monitor and prevent hazards and diseases in the work area. This position will investigate accidents, injuries, and complaints concerning hazards in the workplace, perform professional safety and health assessments, provide training, prepare written reports of findings with recommendations, and coordinate corrective actions.

Basic Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree and five or more years safety related experience. - OR
• Associate's degree and nine or more years safety related experience. - OR
• High school or equivalent education and thirteen or more years safety related experience.

Minimum Qualificaitons
• Bachelor's degree in Safety, Health or Industrial Hygiene, Environmental Engineering or demonstrated equivalent.

• Familiar with OSHA General Industry and Construction Standards.
• Familiar with environmental equipment.
• Possess strong organizational skills with the ability to coordinate and prioritize projects. Able to adapt to changes as they occur.

• Must be detail oriented and possess the ability to manage complex and varied projects.
• Good communication skills to provide technical assistance, presentations, and or training to office and field operations.

• Good writing skills and working knowledge of common word processing, database, and spreadsheet applications.
• Must be a U.S. or Naturalized citizen.

Relationships
This position reports to the Safety Manager .

Responsibilities
Must be a U.S. or Naturalized citizen. This position is designated as a Unescorted Access position. As a condition of employment, candidates and incumbents must favorably complete a personnel security investigation, urinalysis testing, respiratory screening, and must meet and maintain personnel reliability requirements established by Army Regulations. Will rarely be required to wear a Chemical Protective Mask and will be required to work in close proximity to and or in a chemical demilitarization facility. May be required to work overtime or varying hours.

Qualifications
Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Safety, Health or Industrial Hygiene, Environmental Engineering or demonstrated equivalent.

Experience: 5+ years of experience. Certification preferred.
