OK AIHA SPRING CONFERENCE
ABIH Letter
The 2007 OK AIHA Spring Conference will be held April 17, 2007 at the
Oklahoma City Community College in Oklahoma City. This full-day conference
is entitled, “Industrial Hygiene Issues for Pandemic or Bioterrorism
Events”. We have some great speakers lined up:
Dina Matz, CIH, CSP, CBSP - chair of the AIHA Biosafety and Environmental
Biology Committee. This Committee recently released the publication, The
Role of the Industrial Hygienist in a Pandemic (AIHA Guideline 7-2006)
Michael A. Pannell, PhD, CIH - Director of Health and Safety at the Regional
Veterans Hospital in Augusta, Georgia. Dr. Pannell will speak on the VA’s
planned response to a pandemic flu outbreak and has an interesting
presentation on the recent polonium 210 poisoning of the Russian spy.
Aaron Trippler - Director of Government Affairs for AIHA. He will give us an
update on pertinent legislative activities happening in Washington and at
the state levels.
Shawna McWaters-Khalousi - Chief of Terrorism Preparedness and Response at
the OK State Department of Health. She will provide information on
Oklahoma’s Preparedness and Response program.
Ron Micue, MS - System Environmental Manager for Integris Health. He will
provide an overview of what hospitals are doing to prepare for a pandemic or
bioterrorism event.
Conference rates are:
- $100 per
person – Early Registration (OK AIHA Members) received by April 12, 2006
- $125 per
person - Early Registration (Non-members) received by April 12, 2006
- $120 per
person – Regular Registration (Ok AIHA Members) received after April 12,
2006
- $145 per
person – Regular Registration (Non-members) received after April 12,
2006
- $50 per
person – Student Registration
