Notes:
There are currently two Steering Committees at the Stanford Linear Accelerator Center. They are the result of two separate behavior-based safety implementations. With respect to how they function, you may consider them similar to two separate teams within the same league.
Safety Towards Avoiding Risk Today (S.T.A.R.T.) represents employees from both the Site Engineering and Maintenance Department and the Operational Health Physics Department. This group participated in the Pilot study. Their success and employee support has fostered a second implementation.
The second implementation or Phase II of behavior-based safety is know as Prevent Accidents Work Safe (P.A.W.S.).
P.A.W.S. represents employees from the Mechanical Fabrication Department.
