Notes:
I have had an opportunity to inform you of the actions taken to implement a behavior-based safety process at the Stanford Linear Accelerator Center.
The four steps in gaining employee and management support. The steps are: involve the union(s), communicate with employees, initiate a pilot phase and establish a Helm committee to provide guidance to employees and supervisors as the process begins to scale in size.
At some point in the future, one may wish to reflect on the information and data that was presented this afternoon and ask oneself would a similar behavior-based safety process be beneficial within my organization. If the answer is yes, then consider how best to use this information and data for that purpose.
I hope that I will have an opportunity during a future conference to present the findings from both Phase I and Phase II of the Stanford Linear Accelerator Center behavior-based safety process.
