Whenever you bring together a group of individuals who may or may not have participated on a work team or composed of persons from various disciplines, you may want to consider bringing in a specialist on the subject of intergroup dynamics. During our steering committee meetings, we devoted time to meet with and discuss intergroup dynamics with a specialist from Stanford University. After the meeting, I had noticed a marked improvement with the group members ability to work with one another.
