Since 1992, ACOEM’s membership based has experienced a dramatic shift. Within 10 years, the percentage of members employed full time in corporate settings has decreased from 46 percent to 27 percent. Conversely, the percentage of physicians employed full time in the private practice of OEM has increased 33 percent – from 8 percent in 1992 to 41 percent in 2001.
