AIHce 2008 is approved for certification maintenance (CM) points by the American Board of Industrial Hygiene as follows:

• Symposium and Courses (May 31-June 1), see individual descriptions.
• Technical Sessions and Tours (June 2-5), 0.5 CM point per half-day; maximum 4.5 CM points, including Wednesday evening.

Diplomates who instruct courses receive recertification credit on the basis of 0.33 point per hour. Technical session and poster presenters delivering peer-reviewed papers, greater than or equal to 20 minutes, are awarded 1.0 point. Co-authors listed in the AIHce Final Program receive 0.5 CM point.

For a record of technical session / tour attendance, ABIH requires:

• AIHce 2008 registration receipt and hotel bill or approved expense report.

Although AIHA maintains attendance records, it is the responsibility of the registrant to retain all documentation, including certificates and registration receipts, for future reference and/or certification audits.

Note: Beginning January 1 2008, an administrative fee of $35.00 USD will be charged for each re-issued AIHce certificate and/or letter of attendance.

 

CEUs and COCs

AIHA is approved to award CEUs to participants successfully completing courses by the International Association for Continuing Education and Training (IACET).

AIHA is authorized by the Board of Certified Safety Professionals (BCSP) to issue continuance of certification (COC) points in conjunction with the CSP certification.

Attendance and participation in assigned activities and projects is required to earn CEU, COC and CM points.
