Register for AIHce and participate in an exciting week of activities. The Center will be located in the Hyatt Regency Minneapolis and staffed by a knowledgeable concierge who will answer questions about what to do, where to go, where to eat, and where to play in Minneapolis. Refreshments and door prizes will be offered throughout the week.
Admittance and use of the Hospitality Center is limited to paid Family Member/Guest registrants (#97 on the Advance Registration and Hotel Form.)
Activities are included in the Family Member/Guest registration fee. Program and tours are subject to change.
Registration for AIHce is not required to participate in the Social Tours. Fees include transportation, professional escort, entrance fees and other amenities as described. Payment in full is required at the time of ticket purchase. If the minimum on a tour is not met, the tour may be cancelled. Full refunds will be issued. Individuals canceling a tour must do so by April 28. After this date, fees cannot be refunded. Tickets will be sold on site, pending availability.

Sign up for a beginner’s class in Latin dance. Sergio Eston, Professor of Industrial Hygiene, University of Sao Paulo, Brazil and his wife, Maria Luisa, will teach the Samba de Gafieira. Spice up your week with an international flavor. Couples and singles welcome! Leather soles required.

Re-create the feeling of a by-gone era and climb aboard an old-fashioned sternwheeler. Cruise the mighty Mississippi and enjoy a tranquil summer evening with good music, good food, and good friends.

Minneapolis, the City of Lakes, and St. Paul, the Capitol City, take center stage for this Twin Cities highlights tour. Contemporary Minneapolis boasts the pedestrian Nicollet Mall, numerous theaters and galleries, including the Minneapolis Sculpture Garden, and historic Kenwood, site of Mary Tyler Moore’s television home. Travel around the Chain of Lakes and the legendary Minnehaha Falls. Cross the Mississippi River into historic St. Paul. Drive along fabled Summit Avenue, lined with magnificent Victorian mansions. Continue past the Governor’s mansion, the Fitzgerald Theater, home to the “Prairie Home Companion,” the Cathedral of St. Paul and the State Capitol.

Baseball – America’s favorite pastime – is also a favorite at AIHce. The Minnesota Twins play the New York Yankees at the Metrodome. Tickets sell fast for this annual event!

Minnesota’s first river town, Stillwater, is tucked away in the valley of the St. Croix River. Stroll past the beautifully restored Victorian homes, exquisite historic buildings, and quaintly designed churches. Stop for lunch at the Lowell Inn – the “crown jewel” of American Inns. After lunch, spend time browsing the many unique shops and galleries in historic downtown. Lunch at Lowell Inn included.

The hottest spot in town can be found at Let’s Cook! Under the guidance of a professional chef, prepare – and enjoy – the 4-course Barefoot in Paris menu. There’s nothing like food to bring people together…eat well, drink well, laugh and unwind.

Tour St. Paul’s mansion studded Summit Avenue, beginning with the “granddaddy” of Victorian residences – the James J. Hill House. This home originally included 22 fireplaces, 13 bathrooms, full servants’ quarters, and a dining room seating 40 – all to accommodate the Hills and their 10 children. Visit the smaller but equally stunning Alexander Ramsey House, built in the French Second Empire style in 1872. Carefully restored, this 15-room home appears as it was originally built, complete with walnut woodwork, marble fireplaces, and a rich collection of family furniture, china and silver. Traversing the avenue, you’ll see several landmarks, including the Governor’s Residence, the Cathedral of St. Paul, and the impressive Minnesota State Capitol.
