• The Environmental Protection Agency named downtown Minneapolis 1 of 17 business districts in the nation as the "Best Workplaces for Commuters" in 2005.
• The September 2006 issue of GQ magazine named the Guthrie Theater one of "The 10 Most Important Buildings of the 21st Century."
• One of the top 5 mid-size walking cities, according to Prevention magazine in May, 2005.
• Homestore.com named Minneapolis one of "The Top 10 Greenest Cities in America," and it was also ranked 2nd-best in the nation for recycling in a national survey by BioCycle magazine and Columbia University's Earth Engineering.
• The largest mall in the country, Mall of America, boasts more than 520 stores, an amusement park, and a 1.2-million gallon walk-through aquarium.
