Preparing Poster Presentations

  • Posters must exhibit a “professional” look.
  • Visuals must conform to the interior dimensions of the board (44.5” high x 91” wide).
  • Do not use heavy board or backing as these materials will not adhere.
  • Prepare the board with title and author(s) at the top.
  • All lettering should be one inch high, minimum.
  • All illustrations, charts, tables, and drawings must be simple and clear. Use heavy lines and color for emphasis. The information should be readable from a distance of three feet.
  • Display material in a logical sequence; use arrows or numbers to direct readers.
  • Handouts that supplement the research may be provided; a shared table is available for placement. Presenters are responsible for developing, shipping and displaying their handouts.
  • Velcro and push pins are provided on site for mounting; permanent adhesives are prohibited.
