Future Leaders Institute
Congratulations to the 2007 Future Leaders Institute Attendees!
AIHA would like to extend a warm congrulations to the 46 attendees of the third annual Future Leaders Institute. Attendees left the meeting refreshed and excited about their chosen career paths.
The Future Leaders Institute is a two and a half day learning experience will focus on the following four areas:
- Broadening Interpersonal Perspectives: increasing your understanding of your strengths and how to leverage them, as well as how to interact with and engage the different personalities and work styles of others. In addition we will examine best practices of effective managers and leaders.
- Broadening Organizational Perspectives: enhancing your understanding of (1) how strategic decisions are made by your employer and (2) how to position and industrial hygiene and safety issues relative to your organization’s key business priorities; and (3) how to increase your scope of influence and better position your contributions.
- Collaborative/Teamwork Efforts: examining the key components of successful teams and collaborative efforts and the specific actions leaders must perform to make them effective. Learning how to more effectively manage conflicts and differences of perspectives.
- Managing Your Future: exploring your personal and professional aspirations and the possible career pathways that will support them, how to advance within your organization and the profession, and how to build an effective network of mentors and peers.
