Quarterly Meeting - "Unraveling the Mysteries of a TOSHA Inspection" 
April 28, 2008       11:30-1:00

An overview of a TOSHA inspection will be presented which will include a couple case studies.  The attendees will gain a sense of understanding as to the behind the scenes preparation that is required before, during, and after an inspection.  Attention will be provided on document review, information sources, industrial hygiene monitoring capability, the notice of violation process, fines, and post-violation follow-up.

Directions:
I-65, Exit 85 (Metrocenter Blvd), Proceed north (away from Nashville).  Turn right on Dominican Drive, then turn left on French Landing Drive.  TOSHA is located at 220 French Landing Drive.  Visiting parking is designated.  All attendees are required to sign-in.  A cafeteria is located on site with a few choices.  Otherwise, attendees can bring food and several fast food establishments are located within a block of TOSHA's building.

Quarterly Meeting – “A technical tour of the TOSHA Laboratory”

January 31, 2008

11:30 am – 12:30 pm      

Murfreesboro, TN

Attendees will be provided a detailed technical tour of the TOSHA Laboratory, located at 1313 Old Fort Parkway, Murfreesboro.  We will start promptly at 11:30 am with a short narrative by TOSHA staff and a box lunch provided by MTS-AIHA, followed by a tour of the TOSHA Analytical Laboratory.

Directions:

From Nashville:  I-24 East to Exit 78b (Old Fort Pwy), proceed about 1-2 miles and turn right on to New Salem Road, just after the Tennessee Technology Center on the right.  The TOSHA Lab is located at the rear of the Tennessee Career Center (ground floor, suite 200) which is located to the right of the Tennessee Technology Center.  Just find a parking space closest to the rear of the Career Center.

Quarterly MTS-AIHA Meeting

Monday, October 29th, 6:00 p.m. - 8:30 p.m.
Location: Vanderbilt Children's Hospital Board Room, Nashville, TN
Presentation: Scholarship Winner Presentations and a Visit with Don Hart, National AIHA President

The MTS-AIHA is awarding four scholarships to students enrolled in occupational safety and health programs in universities in the Middle Tennessee area. Each student prepared a research paper on a timely industrial hygiene/occupational health topic. The students chosen are invited to present their papers at the Fall quarterly MTS-AIHA meeting where the scholarship checks will be awarded. Presentations will be 10 minutes long with 5 minutes left for questions from the membership. Don Hart will also address the membership and students to discuss National updates and will provide the group with information about how to get involved on the National level.
