Gas Detection

Topics:	"Gas Detection" (oxygen, LEL and toxic gases) by Tom Kirby of ISC This class will give you all the necessary tools to help you use and maintain your gas detection instruments. Even if you are not a current ISC user, these classes will lead you to a better awareness of the dangers associated with hazardous gas atmospheres. Hazardous Gases - Learn the common gases encountered in confined spaces: oxygen hazards, combustible, and toxic gases. Permit Required Confined Spaces - Review the current law legislated under the 29 CFR 1910.146 and learn how to apply gas detection to meet this law and other Government Regulations. Sensor Technology - Discover the world of sensors. Find out why instruments work the way they do. Learn about Catalytic Diffusion Sensors, Electrochemical Sensors and Infrared Sensors. Each have their own special characteristics for handling and calibration. Instrument Review - 200 Series, 300 Series, 400 Series, 600 Series, T80 and others Industrial Scientific instruments. Learn how to complete an instrument package with the proper accessories. Calibration and Maintenance - The Bread & Butter of properly working instruments. Learn how to trouble shoot instruments, replace sensors and battery packs. Return with the knowledge to be self-sufficient in maintaining your instrument inventory. Hands-on Training - Use our instruments or bring your own ISC instrument to be checked and calibrated.
