| Topic: | Jeff will address several indoor air quality issues at the May 7 meeting. He will discuss indoor air quality and green buildings, with specific reference to the indoor air quality concepts used in LEED green building certifications. This discussion will include selection of low emission materials in building construction, building ventilation aspects, and indoor air quality testing to achieve LEED certification credits. He will also discuss the use of portable plug-in style air cleaners, and present research findings concerning the effectiveness of these devices in both residential and office environments. Finally, he will discuss recently enacted California Air Resource Board regulations that pertain to emissions of formaldehyde from building materials, emission testing requirements and procedures, and newly developed guidelines on formaldehyde concentrations in the built environment. |
