Message from the President

As I begin my year as president, I would first like to thank Bill Collier and his board for their hard work during the past year. They did a great job, kept the treasury strong, and provided us with many opportunities to network and improve our professional knowledge and skills. This year should be no different. According to the AIHA's 2000 membership survey, these needs include professional credibility, professional advancement, industry information, and networking. I have assembled an enthusiastic board, which is dedicated to providing a variety of programs to help meet your needs. To start, our upcoming July mini-symposium features the latest information from the American Board of Industrial Hygiene and the California Industrial Hygiene Council (see attached flyer for further information). This promises to be an informative two hours. Don't miss it!

I would also like to congratulate Betty Taylor on becoming a national AIHA director. Best of luck to you during your term!

Finally, I encourage everyone to become active in our section. If you have an idea, comment, or just want to volunteer, please call or e-mail me. We'll see what we can do!!

That's all for now. I look forward to meeting with each and every one of you during the next year.

Ed Klinenberg

P.S. As you may notice, this is a limited newsletter. This was due to the need to get information out about the July mini-symposium in a timely manner. We'll send out a more extensive newsletter in the next few weeks. Also, look for updates at our website: http://www.AIHA1.org/Sections/SVS/
