2008 Fall Conference
|
In response to recent membership survey results, the AIHA Carolinas Section is pleased to announce two exciting items for our fall 2008 conference.
We have changed the format of the PDC and conference to one full day for each. The PDC will be held on Wednesday October 8th from 8 a.m. until 5 p.m. Following the PDC on Wednesday evening, the Past Presidents’ Reception will be held to welcome everyone to the conference. The conference begins at 8:00 a.m. on Thursday and ends at 5:00 p.m.
We hope this change will offer more value to our membership by: • Allowing individuals to get their CM points in a shorter amount of time; • Less work time missed; • Providing a savings on hotel and meal expenses; and • More networking due to increased attendance.
Risk Assessment was one of the top survey responses for preferred PDC topics. Therefore, we have arranged for Susan Arnold, MSOH, CIH of The LifeLine Group in Roswell, GA to present
“Introduction to Risk Assessment for the Industrial Hygienist”. Susan and Michael Jayjock, PhD, CIH routinely present this course at the AIHCe. The course is designed to show the relationship between IH and risk assessment and its elements. It is also designed to be a general and broad overview, providing the IH with an appreciation of where he or she is in this scheme as well as what to learn and do to grow in the profession. The course uses case studies for hands-on experience.
Due to the positive responses from the spring conference, the games for cash and prizes will also be held in the fall. More details will follow as the conference date approaches.
