Skip is a Certified Industrial Hygienist working for Sappi Fine Paper North America the Corporate Director of Safety Systems. Skip has worked for Sappi/SD Warren for 29 years. He has also worked as the Safety Manager for Guilford Rail Systems and has owned his own consulting company. Skip attended the University of Maine at Orono where he graduated with a degree in Biology. Over the years he gained extensive experience in environmental, health and safety by spending time as Industrial Hygiene Manager, Safety Manager and Senior Process Chemist in the paper industry.
Consulting was an area that Skip worked inspecting, auditing and training in a wide varieties of industries throughout Maine. As a hazmat Technician there was plenty of time for developing programs for Maine Emergency Management Agency,and then training responders throughout the state, such as holpital emergency room nurses, doctors and firefighters.
Skip lives in Fairfield with his wife and one son that is still at home, the other three are off at college. He enjoys running, wood-working, hunting, fishing and time with family. As president of the downeast Section of the AIHA he continues years of effort as a board member and other positions in the organization. This led to becoming a member of the National AIH Emergency Preparedness and Response Committee.
Greg is a Senior SalesRep for MSA, and has been with them for 30 years now; all of his time has been spent working in Maine, NH, MA, and Vermont. (Recently he has taken on some key accounts in upstate NY).
Greg has been associated with the DownEast Chapter of AIHA for 12 years says he "very much enjoys the activities and the folks in this dynamic professional association."
Greg enjoys spending time with his son and his family who live nearby; and especially enjoy spending time with his young grandchildren, two boys.
He also enjoys participating in competitve target shooting, and during the season very much enjoys golf, especially in the state of Maine.
Sharon Holmes has been an employee of S.D. Warren/Sappi Fine Paper for over twenty years. Sharon's various positions include Process Specialist, and Industrial Hygiene Manager. Sharon is a CIH and is utilized by Sappi in various industrial hygiene as well as technical pursuits. Sharon lives in New Sharon, Maine with husband Ronald and four year old, Katie.
Dennis Francoeur is the world's greatest "Ducks Unlimited" volunteer saving wetlands throughout New England. Dennis is a CIH and a CSP with RPF Associates of Northwood, NH and has been in the IH consulting end of things since 1985. Dennis is also Chairman of the AIHA Consult SIG and President Elect of the Safety and Health Council of New Hampshire when not busy transporting and coaching his three growing soccer players. Scott Knowlen CSP, CET, CHMM, CHST is currently the Health and Environmental Manager for Cianbro Corporation (www.cianbro.com). Cianbro is one of the East Coast's largest construction and construction services companies with offices in Pittsfield and Portland,Maine; Bloomfield, Connecticut; and Baltimore, Maryland. Scott's background includes a B.S. in Chemical Engineering from the University of Maine at Orono, 12 years in the pulp and paper industry and 11 years in the construction industry. In his current position, he has the good fortune to be working for a company that has safety as a core value at all levels of the organization. When he is not working he enjoys traveling while following his Daughter Katie's softball teams around with his wife, Elaine.
Jonathan Klane, M.S.Ed., CH, CHMM, CET has over eighteen years of experience providing health, safety, training , and consulting services including "Train-theTrainer" courses to business, industry, government, and education. He gaught for three years full-time in Occupational Health & Safety (OHS) at Central Maine Technical College (CMTC).
In 1998 he founded Klane's Education Information Training Hub (sm) (KEITH sm) and he directs all health and safety training. Mr. Klane is a Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH), Certified Hazardous Materials Manager (CHMM), and Certified Environmental Trainer (CET), as well as having a masters in Adult Eduation (M.S.Ed.) which greatly influences how he provides training.
Jonathan has presented on training at numerous national and regional conferences across the country including in Alaska, Atlanta, Arizona, California, Dalas, Las Vegas, ne Mexico, maine (of course), New Orleans and Rhode Island, and in 2006 in Las Vegas (yet again), Chicago, and Seattle!
He has authored a book, two textbook chapters (including "Training Delivery" in the National Environmental Safety and Health Training Association's published guidebook to implementing the ANSI Standard Za490 on EHS Traiing), and several articles (including "Mandataor Continuing Education - How Can We Make It Better?" and "Really Effective Training!" both published in Occupational Health and Safety magazine and "15 Rules of Marketing" published in The Synergist of the American Industrial Hygiene Association).
He lives in Fairfield, maine with his wife, Deborah (an author), two sons, Evan and Ian, their dog, Tucker, and their bunny, Cadbury. he is an amateur triathelete.
Don Martin is a Senior Consultant for Behavioral Science Technology, Inc., and has over 29 years experience in managing safety, health, and environmental programs.
Don is a Certified Industrial Hygienist and a Certified Safety Professional. He holds a BS Degree in Environmental Science from Sam Houston State University,and a Master of Public Health Degree from the University of Texas School of Public Health.
Don is currently the a member of the Board of Directors of the American Industrial Hygiene Association's Down East Section, and maintains an active membership in the American Society of Safety Engineers.
He is also an adjunct faculty member at the University of Southern Maine in their Environmental Safety and Health Degree Program, and serves as the Chair-Elect of that program's advisory board. Don is married with two children. He lives in Winterport, Maine and enjoys corss-country skiing when the snow is good, bicycle riding when the roads are clear, and running when he can't ski or bike.
