Investigate, prepare, and forward as required reports on injuries and fatalities. Participate in Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) inspections and in any procedures that may follow a citation. Conduct safe work procedures training courses. Perform audits of operational areas and report effectiveness of system safety program. Develop safety documents as required to support customer and operational requirements. Participate in accident investigations involving damage to facilities and the identification of causes and necessary corrective actions.

The idea candidate will have at least five years occupational safety and health management experience, be familiar with 29CFR1910 and 29CFR1960, and have experience with implementing a safety program for a multi-location federal agency or company. 

A CSP is preferred but not required. Also preferred but not required is knowledge of, and practical experience in implementing a safety and health management system such as ANSI Z-10, OSHA VPP, or ISO.

Responsibilities include: Perform field evaluations and attend meetings to develop, implement, and support comprehensive occupational health and safety programs for federal clients. Review projects, designs, and purchases to anticipate health hazards. Evaluate work environments, processes, materials, and inventories to recognize potential health risks. Assess workplace hazards through a combination of qualitative and quantitative methods to determine health risks, regulatory compliance, and legal liabilities. Recommend effective control measures to mitigate risks via engineering, administrative, or protective equipment and communicate risks and control measures to workers, management, and clients. Integrate Occupational Safety and Health programs with related health-risk management efforts.

 Qualifications Functional/Industry Knowledge:

·         Knowledge of industrial hygiene practices and procedures or construction safety concepts, principles, and practices applicable to the performance of evaluations in a variety of workplaces is a MUST

·         Knowledge of OSHA and consensus standards

·         Ability to recognize, evaluate, and control health hazards

·         Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with representatives of government, labor, and others at all levels

·         Possession of excellent oral and written communication skills

Education/Certifications or equivalent required: BA or BS degree in Industrial Hygiene, Health & Safety, Engineering, Chemistry, Physics, Biology, or Physiology required.  Please email or send resume and three (3) references to:
