-5 years administrative & supervisory
experience -Able to write policy, memos, letters, & reports
-Knowledge of applicable state and federal codes -Able to recognize
and be alert to safety issues -Excellent computer & communication
skills -The Safety Director must be able to use a self-contained
breathing apparatus and air purifying respirators.
-The Safety Director must be able to work in a
Level A protective suit and use monitoring equipment designed to
evaluate hazardous environments.

Duties/Responsibilities Serves as the Safety
Director for University and provides supervision and leadership for
six environmental, health, and safety professionals. Responsible for
the safety of University employees, students, and visitors. Ensures
that the University is in compliance with relevant federal, state,
and local codes and regulations dealing with environmental,
compliance related programs. Makes recommendations for appropriate
safety equipment. Serves as Chair for the Campus Safety Committee.
Must be available for special events and on-call assignments to
respond to accidents, hazardous materials incidents, and
environmental concerns. Coordinates with departments for successful
implementation of safety practices.
Approximate Starting Salary Range
$61,265-$79,600 DOE
