NIOSH is preparing to develop a new edition of the NIOSH Manual of Analytical Methods (NMAM) and has issued a survey to collect user input. NIOSH’s goal is to make NMAM more user-friendly and to ensure the publication better meets the needs of users. When NIOSH last conducted a survey about NMAM in the mid-1990s, AIHA® members provided feedback that was instrumental in helping the agency develop the 4th edition of NMAM, along with three supplements.
NIOSH encourages AIHA members to take the new survey to assist the agency in this endeavor. Click here to take the survey.
NMAM is a collection of methods for sampling and analysis of contaminants in workplace air, and in the blood and urine of workers who are occupationally exposed. The manual also includes chapters on quality assurance, sampling, portable instrumentation, and more. NMAM is available on NIOSH’s website.
AIHA partners with NIOSH to advance the protection of workers, promote best practices, and encourage employers to develop and utilize occupational health and safety management systems and effective prevention strategies and technologies. For more information, visit the AIHA website.
