Ad Preparation Charges: If you would like assistance in producing your ad, please ask your account executive for current rates. If electronic files are not submitted correctly, any necessary changes will be billed to advertiser. 

Issuance and Closing Dates: 11 issues are published each year; see editorial calendar for mailing dates.​

Please note: The Synergist abides by the guidelines for editors and publishers created by the American Society of Magazine Editors, which articulate principles for transparency in editorial content and advertising. In keeping with the ASME guidelines, The Synergist will not place print or digital advertisements for specific products, services, or companies within or adjacent to editorial content that discusses those products, services, or companies. Inserts

Advertiser supplies inserts completed, printed and ready for binding in sufficient quantity to match press run for scheduled issue. A paper and insert sample must be submitted to the editor for approval 10 days prior to the materials due date. Inserts billed as follows:

  • Two-page inserts: Two times the earned frequency black-and-white rate plus $950 commissionable bind-in rate.

  • Four-page inserts: Three times the earned frequency black-and-white rate plus $950 commissionable bind-in rate.

  • Business-reply cards: One time earned frequency black-and-white rate plus $950 commissionable bind-in rate.

​Digital Inline Optimized Ad Size Specifications

The Digital Synergist seeks to provide a superior experience for readers on three device types: desktop, tablet, and phone.

To optimize an ad for the Digital Synergist, you will need to create separate files for each device type. Because it is unlikely that an ad created for a desktop monitor can accommodate as much text as an ad created for print, we recommend that marketers simplify their creative for digital display and use significantly less text than they would for a print ad. Similarly, an ad for the phone should use text sparingly, with larger fonts for legibility.

  • Desktop and Tablet in-line ad (landscape orientation): 1042 pixels wide by 342 pixels high

  • Phone ​in-line ad (portrait orientation): 640 pixels wide by 500 pixels high

  • Desktop (landscap​e orientation): 2560 pixels wide x 1440 pixels high

  • Tablet (portrait orientation): 1536 pixels wide x 2048 pixels high

Video Specifications

Please upload the video to YouTube and set to play at normal speed, at a quality of 480p. Total play time should not exceed two minutes.

The creative should be simplified, and use less text than a print ad.

The Synergist staff will embed the video into the digital magazine at appropriate sizes for the desktop, tablet, and phone versions.
