"the science and art devoted to the anticipation, recognition, evaluation and control of those environmental factors and stresses, arising in or from the workplace, which may cause sickness, impaired health and well-being, or significant discomfort and inefficiency among workers along with citizens of the community."

AIHA

The American Industrial Hygiene Association (AIHA), founded in 1939, is the world’s largest association of occupational and environmental health professionals. Its members play an important role on the front line of worker health and safety. The 12,500 members come from government, labor, industry, academia, and private business. AIHA is the most diverse professional association dedicated solely to the prevention of workplace fatalities, injuries, and illnesses.
