FALLS CHURCH, Va. (August 25, 2016) — The American Industrial Hygiene Association (AIHA) invites industrial hygiene (IH) and occupational and environmental health and safety (OEHS) professionals to submit proposals on the latest OEHS information, trends, technology, and best practices to present at the 2017 American Industrial Hygiene Conference and Expo (AIHce). Experts are encouraged to submit proposals for professional development courses (PDCs), which are in-depth, more formal learning experiences, and education sessions, which make up the main conference program, using the proposal submission portal on the conference website. AIHce 2017, the must-attend conference for IH and OEHS professionals worldwide, will be held June 2–8, 2017, in Seattle, Wash. PDCs will be held Saturday and Sunday, June 3 and 4, and on Thursday, June 8. AIHce education sessions will take place Monday through Wednesday, June 5–7.

“AIHce is founded on the rich contributions of our presenters and the strong network we create,” said AIHA board member Dina Siegel CIH, CSP, CBSP. “Sharing ideas and experiences benefits not only other professionals but all workers, both here and abroad.”

AIHce 2017 will feature some exciting changes to the format of the conference. The updated conference schedule is intended to be more user-friendly and efficient; all education sessions will be 60 minutes in length, with breaks in between to allow attendees to easily get from one presentation to the next. AIHce 2017 will also include a variety of education formats to create engaging learning environments that actively involve participants. Education sessions will be grouped into tracks, allowing attendees to share the conference experience with those who are interested in similar subject areas. Those who are interested in presenting are encouraged to review new resources on the AIHce website, including a breakdown of education session formats and worksheets on preparing proposals for submission.

Presenting at AIHce allows individuals to expand their career by increasing their visibility and building their reputation among fellow professionals. Presenters can also earn certification maintenance points, find new opportunities for dialogue and discussion, and introduce new concepts that will benefit their colleagues, the profession, and the well-being of workers around the world.

The deadline for PDC submissions is Sept. 14, 2016. Proposals for education sessions must be submitted by Sept. 26, 2016.
