Ethics for the EHS Professional

Earn 2 Contact Hours - fulfills the ABIH Ethics requirement!

Sponsored by the Joint Industrial Hygiene Ethics and Education Committee

Ethics poses questions about who we are and how we ought to act.  There are standards that govern our actions whether they are right or wrong.  Certain character traits, such as honesty, compassion, and fairness make us who we are.  But how do we ensure that our personal ethics don’t cause us to minimize or ignore certain concerns?

In this webinar, EHS professionals seeking to understand professional ethics concepts will examine the fundamental causes of our actions. The Code of Ethics for both health and safety professionals will also be examined and applied through case studies and scenarios.

This course will tackle major questions like:

  • How do I identify a moral issue?
  • What facts do I need to collect before I decide on how to act?
  • What are the alternative actions?
  • What is the right thing to do and how do I come to that decision?
  • What can I learn from the outcome of my actions?
  • What are the potential conflicts and how do I handle them?
