A course for those newly exposed to industrial hygiene responsibilities or in need of a foundational skill refresher.
Gain exposure to industrial hygiene's broad field through sampling and workshop sessions, hands-on (in-person) lab experiences, demo sessions, and problem-solving exercises. This course is not only designed for OEHS professionals new to industrial hygiene or who have newly acquired IH/OEHS responsibilities but also serves as an excellent refresher.
Location: Virtual courses will be hosted on Zoom. In-person offerings will be held at Safex, Inc., 140 N Otterbein Avenue, Westerville, OH 43081.

Learning Aids
Each attendee is asked to bring:
- A scientific calculator
- A laptop or tablet to view the electronic handout or a printed copy of the handout. Meeting rooms will be wired with easy access to electricity for laptop use, for in-person offerings
Learning Outcomes
Upon completion, the attendee will be able to:
- Identify industrial hygiene principles and practices.
- Describe basic concepts of health hazard recognition, evaluation and control methods.
- Select appropriate air sampling method for airborne contaminants.
- Calculate the Time-Weighted Average (TWA) from multiple samples.
- Compare sample results to the appropriate Occupational Exposure Limits (OELs).
