Call for Reviewers

AIHA is proud to host the 11th International Occupational Hygiene Association (IOHA) International Scientific Conference, taking place at the Washington Marriott Marquis in Washington, DC on September 24-26, 2018. We are seeking applications from individuals interested in serving as International Abstract Reviewers.

International Abstract Reviewers (IARs)

International Abstract Reviewers will read and rate session abstracts submitted for the IOHA 2018 conference.  The Call for Abstracts will launch 3 January 2018 and the deadline for submissions will be 29 January 2018. Abstract review will take place online 31 January - 14 February 2018.  The scoring results of the abstract reviews will be used by the International Scientific Committee (ISC) to select the sessions for the conference. 

Roles & Responsibilities

Purpose and Objectives
The 11th IOHA International Scientific Conference (IOHA 2018) is a special event, whose mission is to create a global appeal to an international audience of multi-disciplined professionals with a focus on worker health protection and exposure control. The conference will provide a unique integrated platform of workplace health and well-being in a professional and scientific arena ideal for hearing the latest science and viewpoints as well as networking and professional development opportunities. The IAR are responsible for reviewing submissions, in a variety of formats, for overall quality, with the goal of creating an innovative, high value program to meet the needs of IH professionals globally.

The IAR shall represent a global community and constituencies including industry, government, academia, and consulting.  

In partnership with AIHA staff, IAR will:
  • Conduct an online review, during early February, of all proposals submitted for PDCs, education sessions, case studies, scientific research, and posters and help the International Scientific Committee (ISC) determine which to accept.
  • Meet established deadlines regarding program development which is inter-related to timetables for logistical execution and marketing.


Applications for International Abstract Reviewers must be submitted using this form. The deadline for applications is 15 January 2018.​​​​​​
