Members of the Career and Employment Services (CES) Committee will offer their insight and tips for building a well-developed, professional resume. Presenters will provide suggestions regarding what job seekers should include and highlight within their resumes to help get them noticed by prospective employers. Many job seekers struggle to convey the narrative of their professional life in a resume and inadvertently provide a product that gets them eliminated from consideration rather than on the list of candidates for interview. Many CES Committee members are or have been hiring managers, and will use real-world experience to help attendees improve their resumes by providing the do’s and don’ts of resume building.

This webinar will present information for industrial hygienists on the process of evaluating spaces for odors.  On occasion, the industrial hygienist is asked to find the source of a localized, transitory or wide-spread odor in a facility. Most industrial hygienists have their go-to list of how to evaluate for the odors. While many odors fit typical categories that industrial hygienists evaluate for, other odors are outside the typical – and the industrial hygienist is left with a space with an odor and uncertainty of how to proceed. This webinar will outline a systematic process of how to evaluate the odors from collecting subjective and objective information, evaluating site conditions for potential sources, determining whether sampling is appropriate (and what to sample), appropriate controls, and interpreting results. As part of the investigation process presentation, a discussion of odor thresholds will be included.

Graphene, consisting of a single layer of carbon arranged in a plane, is one of the most exciting and rapidly growing nanomaterials. It is becoming increasingly popular in a wide range of applications, especially in composites and plastics.

If you work with nanomaterials, chances are that sooner or later you will come across graphene in one of its many forms.

This webinar will explain what graphene is, the forms it takes and how it is incorporated into composite materials. Good practices to mitigate exposure to nanomaterials and how to improve workplace safety practices will also be presented.
