Minority SIG

Answer the call for social change and become a member of Minority SIG (MSIG). AIHA is changing and MSIG is a change agent looking at issues that effect minorities, underserved populations and underprivileged people. You don’t have to be a minority to join, just have a interest in the common cause of seeing equality in EHS. MSIG is reflective of the diversity within the workforce, the world and AIHA. Become a part of professionals engaging in dialogue to develop strategies and execute a plan to resolve minority group issues and concerns around the world. We are planning some exciting initiatives for 2018 around scholarships, networking, collaborations, and special events.  You can join us on your membership form or by registration online.


The AIHA Minority SIG addresses issues and concerns within the industrial hygiene and environmental health profession that uniquely affect individuals classified as minorities within the United States population, as well as those that affect disadvantaged and low income workers and other members of the community.  

The Objectives of the Minority SIG are to: 

  • Provide a forum for discussion among AIHA members of the health, safety and environmental  issues that uniquely affect minorities, disadvantaged, and low income workers and members of the community;

  • Increase and facilitate communication among AIHA minority member and provide a means by AIHA minority members can respond to events of common interest;

  • Increase awareness of the industrial hygiene and environmental health profession among minorities; and

  • Assist and support minorities aspiring to enter the industrial hygiene and environmental health profession.
