We often turn to AIHA Brand Ambassadors who are industry experts to share their expertise on how OEHS professionals add value to a company in a specific area.

Over the last two years, AIHA has developed and launched the Worker Health Safety initiative focused on educating employers in the construction, chemical manufacturing and first responder industries about the value OEHS professionals bring to their organizations. We couldn’t have done it without our Brand Ambassadors who are critical to the success of the initiative, working with our team to develop content, conduct media interviews, author articles and speak at relevant conferences. This year we will be adding new industries to our outreach efforts.

Who are Brand Ambassadors?

AIHA Brand Ambassadors are valued members of our association who volunteer their time in different ways to help us educate target audiences including employers, and C-level and senior management professionals within companies who make decisions about hiring OEHS professionals.

What are the responsibilities?

There are numerous ways in which Brand Ambassadors volunteer their time. A few include:

  • Sharing ideas, they have for articles and case studies and if they are aware of industry publications or organizations that we should reach out to for placement.
  • reviewing website content and messages developed by the AIHA team
  • writing articles for industry trade publications
  • conducting media interviews with journalists on relevant topics
  • speaking at industry-related conferences

Brand Ambassadors choose how they are involved. You may not feel comfortable speaking to a reporter but enjoy writing articles, so you chose how you contribute.

What is the time commitment?

The amount of time Brand Ambassadors contribute is up to them. We understand you are busy with your day-to-day jobs and are volunteering your time as a Brand Ambassador to help elevate the profession. There may be times of the year when you are busier than others. We only ask that if you make a commitment to write an article for a publication or speak at a conference that you try to keep it.

How do I get started?

If after hearing more you are ready or want more information, please reach out to Sue Marchese Lewis at [email protected] who can answer all your questions. If you decide to move forward, we will connect you with the right team who can provide more details about specific projects and initiatives.

What is in it for me?

Besides the opportunity to be a trained spokesperson and influencer on behalf of AIHA, you can report your volunteer time to the Board of Global EHS Credentialing (BGC) for credits toward credential maintenance, and you will be acknowledged at next year’s Mark of Excellence Virtual Awards (which includes inclusion in a press release, mention on AIHA’s website and periodicals).
