Cannabis Businesses in California May Need to Meet OSH Training Requirements

March 12, 2018

Legislation introduced in the California State Assembly would require applicants for a state license to operate a cannabis business to provide a statement that they currently employ, or will employ within one year of receiving a license, one supervisor and one employee who have successfully completed the 30-hour California/OSHA general industry course that is provided by a California/OSHA-authorized training provider.

At least some technical corrections are needed for this legislation, and whether AIHA will support this legislation or request changes is still a matter of debate.
