Teen Workplace Safety

Just because the kids are going back to school doesn’t mean that teen workplace safety is a forgotten issue! Quite the opposite! With the start of the school year comes the date when the bill that AIHA’s members helped to enact, TX HB 2010, goes into effect. The bill encourages school districts to develop a workplace safety training program and include it in the curriculum for students in Grades 7 through 12.

AIHA is actively encouraging the introduction and enactment of similar legislation in other States. One upcoming example involves the Teen Workplace Safety Task Force (of the Government Relations Beta Group), which has a meeting this month with an Ohio State Legislator to discuss these matters.
