Duct Velocity and VP

Directly related to the velocity of air in the duct. The relationship is a form of Bernoulli's Equation, a fundamental natural relationship discovered about 300 years ago and which relates velocity of a fluid to its velocity pressure.

Air from two sources flowing through a duct.

Formula

  • \( V = 4005 \sqrt{VP/df} \)
Result and Duct VP
Variable Description
VP Velocity pressure in the hood duct
df Density Factor

Duct Velocity and VP

\( V = 4005 \sqrt{VP/df} \)
V
= 4005 √
